Okay, I realize that by the first day of the official war starting, I had been on site for three nights and two full days. I made notes of them before lightly, but mostly I was just getting a good lay of the land. So Monday was the official start of the war and I was so looking forward to getting involved in the big battles. On tap for the day was bridge battles with limited fronts and a lot of hard pressed up tight quarter constant engagement.

I have always planned my SCA schedule over three different time spans. The first is Gulf Wars to roughly Pennsic. Gulf Wars typically marks the beginning of the equestrian activities for the year and historically, the end of July (or Pennsic) marks the middle of the season for it. The next is of course is from that point to roughly the end of October, which for my two kingdoms is pretty much the end of the equestrian activities. And the one coming up is the winter from roughly November to Gulf Wars.

I arrived at Pennsic on Friday night at around 10:30 or 11:00. Quickly, I got my stuff out of the car, a got a general lay of the land, and ended up asleep before too much longer. This is outline of a class I have started doing at SCA events to introduce those that are interested to the many varied things we do in the SCA with the equestrian activities. Obviously it is just an outline and I talk as we go over it expanding out the subjects and I kind of let it go the direction the class is interested. Additionally it is accompanied by several photos in a slide show format and a short video of some activities as well. If you would like more information or details do not hesitate to ask.
